| I really need some sort of motivation to start revising for exams. My first one is in a week and a half and I havent even started yet! Well, not much fun has happened since my last entry. I went to my mates for the week and that was good, came back to uni, and now I'm ust lazing about up here doing nothing. I am however having a little trouble deciding which church to make my regular. I know I need to settle myself in one particular one so I can serve God well there. But there are two churches that are equally sound in terms of theology and I'm not sure which one I should be at. I've been going most of the year to a small independant church which is very traditional and where the teaching is good, but the preaching style is much drier than I'm used to. I chose that church because I felt in a smaller church I'd be more likely to get involved and start serving there. And I have - I play my trumpet in services, and I've got to know many people of different ages, who are all lovely. However, the other church is a large, evangelical anglican, with many students and the times I've been the sermons have been really inspiring! I much prefer the services at that church but feel if I shouldn't go there because if I do, its much easier just to talk to student and not get involved with anything. I am naturally very lazy - thus why I went to the small church, so I would be certain to actually do something. Even so, my friend at the large church has insisted she will make me get involved there too, if I do go. So now I'm utterly confused - do I stay at the small church, where I know people and am involved, yet am struggling to really appreciate the worship and sermons and will always be thinking I'm missing out at the large church; or, do I go to the large church, which I really enjoy and can technically get involved also, yet be turning my back on the church Ive been at for a year and get the feeling I've been following my own path rather than God's will!!!! Well, anyway, I'm going to pray about it lots so hopefully I should know what to do soon. Apart from that, I've ordered HP7!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOP!!!!! Gets here on July 20th. Ive also ordered the entire Jonathan Creek boxset for anyone who knows what that is!? It's also not long till I move into my house with my mates up here in Newcastle which is really exciting - only month and a half to go! But before that - I have to get through exams... :( | | |
| I couldn't go to church this Sunday, even though it was Easter, cos I was in bed all day suffering from food poisoning. It was awful. Chucked up first about 5 in the morning then felt awful all day. Better yesterday, and I think I'm ok now, but I'll have to wait and see what happens for the rest of today! I hope I do get better cos like I said, I'm going to see a mate tomorrow, and if I'm still not well that doesnt look to promising... | | |
| It's lucky you're actually able to read this as I very nearly lost all my fingers today. Posting invitations to our church Easter Service this afternoon in the local area and had to go into a somewhat rough part. Of course half the houses had dogs and they do love making your struggle with the letterbox. First you have to use one hand to hold the flap up the other has to go through the furry bit to hold up the inside flap while you use the palm of that to shove the leaflet through. Bearing in mind this has to be done in an instant otherwise the evil canine within the house will jump and bite the fingers of the hand within the house off! Well, Icame close enough one time to feel the dogs nose against my fingers before I pulled right back out again - I'm just glad its all over. Now, I can relax - except that I have to finish my Ancient Greek assignment this week, as I'm going away next to see a friend from uni in Cumbria. He has a dog. Grrrr.... | | |
| I suppose 8 months is quite a long time without a post! I've been well busy since starting uni with hardly any time for browsing the web. I'm really enjoyin myself up here in Newcastle though, made a load of good friends and really enjoying the course. For any of the Americans that read this, I've learnt alot about your accent during my lectures, and for you Southerners that read this, I've learnt that your accent is inferior to us Northerners Hope everyone is well and enjoying themselves! | | |
